Geneva School of Boerne tied for 15th place among all 5A Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools in this year’s Henderson Cup standings.

Local motocross racer Brody Pacheco, 12, is headed to Loretta Lynn’s ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee for the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship scheduled for Aug. 1-6.

Recent Boerne High graduate Regina Hernandez signed to play soccer with Club Necaxa Femenil in Aguacalientes, Mexico. The team plays in the Liga MX Femenil, which is the highest division of women’s soccer in Mexico. Hernandez will also take online classes at UTSA while she plays.

The annual Flag Run 5K race and 1 mile walk was held on July 4th in and around Boerne. More than 300 walkers and runners took part in the event that started and ended at Main Plaza. Half of the proceeds went to the Boerne Fire Department and the first-place finisher in each division received a watermelon.

During the recently completed 2022-23 academic year, less than 5 percent of Boerne ISD students who were checked for drug use tested positive.

As the budget season for the next fiscal year nears, Boerne city staff and officials are gearing up to begin the budget process with the many fiscal impacts of the past year in mind.

A group of Boerne High students, parents and teachers recently went on an 11-day trip to Europe and visited four different countries. The group took along a copy of the Boerne Star for their reading enjoyment. The group visited France, Switzerland, Germany and Austria and posed for a photo in front of Nueschwanstein Castle in Hohenschwangau, Germany, the inspiration for the Disney Cinderella castle.
