Many a young reader who ventures into the library is more than a little eager to embark upon an adventure within the pages of a book. Children’s adventure stories arose in the 19th century, and included such timeless classics as “The Swiss Family Robinson” by Johann David Wyss and “Treasure Island” by Robert Louis Stevenson.

GVTC Communications made history this year by conducting the company’s first-ever hybrid annual meeting. The 67th annual meeting of the cooperative took place in person at the New Braunfels Civic Center while also being live-streamed virtually.

The Declaration of Independence was read outside the Kendall County Courthouse on Friday, July 1, in honor of the Fourth of July holiday. Those reading the declaration were participating in a statewide effort initiated in 2010 by the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association to have the document read in each county in Texas. In 2019, Boerne ISD partnered with several local nonprofits to host the first Back to School Resource Rally event aimed at supporting Boerne’s most vulnerable students.

Boerne Community Theatre is continuing its summer musical theater camps this summer with a second opportunity scheduled July 25 through August 7.
