The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team was entered in the Cornerstone Warrior Classic tourney last weekend and played three games.
After dropping its opener in the tourney, the Eagles rebounded to win its next two and claim the consolation championship.
Geneva finished the tourney at 2-1 and stands at 5-1 overall. The Eagles returned to the court on Tuesday of this week for a non-district game at Harper. After that, they are off until Dec. 2, when they visit San Saba.
At the Cornerstone tourney, the Eagles opened with a 55-46 loss to Victoria East on Thursday for its only setback of the season so far.
Maegan Riebel led the team with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists against Victoria East.
Geneva returned on Friday and defeated Cedar Hill Newman International, 95-7, to advance to the consolation title game.
In that Newman International game, Maegan Riebel tallied 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 steals, Brynn Riebel added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals and Hailey Kirchner finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds.
The Eagles met Cedar Creek on Saturday and beat the Bastrop school, 62-25, to claim the consolation title.
Maegan Riebel recorded 20 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists, while Kyra Petty tallied 17 points and 9 rebounds to help secure the championship.
