Donations pour in for accident victim’s family

$20 from Nancy. $50 from Rahma. $179 from anonymous — all are GoFundMe donations made Monday afternoon to “Remembering Alexia’s Joyful Spirit.” Alexia Rosales lost her life Dec. 19 in a freak accident at the ExcellED Montesorri Plus school in Boerne when a car jumped a curb and knocked a barrier fence onto students playing in the school’s back yard and at least two teachers watching over them. Rosales, 22, was pinned beneath the collapsed fence and died at the scene. The GoFundMe page created by ExcellEd tells of Alexia’s gift of love and laughter, kindness and warmth. The page’s original goal of $10,000 was smashed within hours of being posted; as of noon Monday, the contribution total topped $45,000 and continues to grow. Those wishing to donate can log on to GoFundMe.com and enter “Remembering Alexia’s Joyful Spirit” and hit “donate now” to do so. Courtesy photo
