Baseball can sometimes be a cruel game and that proved to be the case Tuesday for the Boerne Champion team that traveled to Kerrville Tivy for a key district contest.

The UIL state tennis tournament is scheduled for this week and Boerne ISD will be well represented.

SAN ANTONIO – The Champion boys golf team finished second at this year’s Region IV-5A tourney at San Antonio’s Golf Club of Texas to qualify for state.

Boerne High placed third at the Region IV-4A boys golf tournament in Victoria and is headed to this year’s 4A state tournament.

The Champion track and field program competed at its District and Area meets recently and performed well at both.

The Champion softball team closed out the regular season last week with two meaningful games and split the two.

The Boerne High baseball team finished off Fredericksburg Friday at home and pulled off the sweep of the Battlin’ Billies.

The Boerne and Fredericksburg girls basketball teams dominated this year’s all-district selections after the two Hill Country rivals finished tied atop the 28-4A standings.

The Geneva School of Boerne baseball team had a hard time getting its offense going on Friday when the Eagles hosted Brentwood Christian.

The Champion baseball team rallied against Seguin Friday night at home and kept its playoff hopes alive.

With two games left in the baseball regular season, the 28-4A district title is still up for grabs but the good news for the Greyhounds is that they control their own destiny.

Even though Hyde Park was outhit by the Geneva School of Boerne softball team in Friday’s game, 15-5, the Panthers played the Eagles close and made it interesting, however Geneva was still able to pick up the 8-5 win.
