The Geneva School of Boerne softball team hosted Corpus Christi John Paul II on Monday and played two games.

CC JP II was able to win both and leave the Eagles still in the hunt for its first win of the year.

Geneva slips to 0-5 and they’ll play another double header this Friday in Austin vs. Brentwood.

In the first game on Monday the Corpus Christi school won, 20-9. Freshman Madeline Egbert pitched and senior Alexa Elizondo was the catcher.

In the second game, the Eagles played better but came up a few runs short and lost 18-16.

Avery Myrick pitched and freshman Kate Freisenhann was the catcher. Madeline Egbert hit a home run.

Also, the Eagles lost a pair of games last weekend. Geneva lost to Providence last Thursday, 14-3, and then fell to Incarnate Word on Friday, 10-5.

Madeline Egbert tripled and singled, picked up 2 RBI and scored a run for the Eagles and also went 5 innings in the circle and struck out 4 batters.

Avery Myrick and Abby Brehmer both tossed in the game. Myrick struck out 2.

Against Providence, the Eagles scored all 3 of its runs in the fourth inning and finished with 4 hits in the game in Thursday’s 14-3 loss.

Avery Myrick homered, drove in 2 runs and scored once; Alexa Elizondo singled, while Kate Friesenhahn and KK Chisholm singled and scored.
