The Boerne baseball team opened district play Tuesday at home against Bandera and pounded the Bulldogs, 17-0 in four and a half innings.
BHS starts 28-4A play at 1-0 and is 19-2 overall. The Greyhounds visit Bandera on Friday and look for the series sweep against the Bulldogs.
The Hounds put on a hitting clinic Tuesday and hit three home runs and three doubles to go with six singles.
Rashawn Galloway recorded two of the homers including a grand slam, while Cole Phillips had the other dinger.
Galloway also doubled and singled, picked up 6 RBI and scored twice and Phillips also singled to go with his homer and pushed in 2 runs and scored once.
Cam Johnson collected 3 RBI, singled and scored; Kalob Sanchez singled and scored; Riley Pechacek singled, scored and had an RBI; Tyler Garritano plated a run; Dylan Perez scored twice; Andrew Poole scored once; Huston Hendrix singled, pushed in a run and scored 2 runs, Max Garcia singled and scored; Connor Shill singled, had an RBI and scored twice; Cale Blalock picked up an RBI and scored a run, while Landon Lestourgeon scored once.
Phillips started on the mound and went 3 innings, striking out all 9 batters he faced and didn’t give up a hit, while Xander Cloudy and Lestourgeon both tossed an inning.
Cloudy fanned 1 and Lestourgeon 2 as the three pitchers combined for the shutout and 12 Ks and didn’t walk a batter or give up a hit.
