Injuries are part of athletics and one of the reasons the Boerne High football team had a great season in 2022 was because they managed to stay relativity injury free during their historic run to the state finals.

Comfort football coach Jay Rieken said he saw a mix of good and bad things from his team during last week’s season opener in Johnson City.

The Boerne Champion volleyball team played in its last tournament of the regular season last weekend and played nine matches.

The Comfort volleyball team played at the Geneva Tourney in Boerne last week and played six matches and went 0-4-2. They are 10-8-2 overall.

LAREDO – Boerne Champion had a few ups and downs in its season opener Thursday in Laredo but when the clock hit 0:00, the Chargers defeated United South, 37-27, to give Blane Ellis his first win as a head coach.

Geneva School of Boerne looked sharp in its season opener Friday night in Katy when the Eagles took on Harmony School of Innovation.

Two regional heavyweights slugged it out Friday in Corpus Christi when the Greyhounds visited Flour Bluff for their 2023 season openers.
