Geneva School of Boerne hosted the Tourney in Boerne as 14 area volleyball teams descended on Boerne for this event.
Geneva did well at the tourney after they went 6-0 and didn’t drop a set all weekend, sweeping all six opponents. They ended up in second place due to point differential, according to coach Madison Nagy.
Cammy Curtis and Kate Friesenhahn received All- Tournament honors as the team improved to 9-10-2 overall.
The Eagles are at home Tuesday against Bracken Christian.
At last weekend’s tournament, the Eagles topped TMI Episcopal, 25-11, 25-14; pounded Providence, 25-17, 25-17; roared past New Braunfels Thunder, 25-15, 25-15; defeated Faith Academy, 25-13, 25-8; beat Bracken Christian, 25-5, 25-16 and crushed Comfort, 25-18, 25-21.
Geneva vs. NBCA
The Geneva School of Boerne volleyball team traveled to New Braunfels Christian Academy last Tuesday and the match went five sets before a winner was determined.
Geneva dropped the first set and took the next two and was up 2-1 in match play, but couldn’t close it out and the New Braunfels school went on to record the 25-20, 15-25, 24-26, 25-18, 15-13 win over the Eagles.
Despite the loss, Coach Nagy said the team is improving as the season progresses.
“The varsity lost in a 5-set thriller, but they are pushing hard and getting better every match,” she said.
