Chargers at Smithson Valley Texas Showdown

The Boerne Champion volleyball team played in its last tournament of the regular season last weekend and played nine matches.

Champion went 5-4 at the event and stands at 16-8 overall. The Lady Chargers were back on the road Tuesday to play at San Antonio Christian.

At the Smithson Valley Texas Showdown, the Lady Chargers lost to Steele, 25-16, 26-24; lost to Burleson Centennial, 25-23, 25-20 and lost to La Vernia in a close one, 25-22, 25-27, 26-24 on the first day.

On Friday, Champion defeated Mansfield Lake Ridge, 25-21, 17-25, 25-19; beat Lake Worth, 25-14, 25-17 and topped Judson, 25-10, 25-15.

They returned Saturday and the Lady Chargers faced and beat Judson once again, 25-6, 30-29; beat Lake Worth, 25-10, 25-14 and lost to Houston Memorial, 25-19, 18-25, 25-20.
