SOMERSET – The Champion baseball team picked up a narrow win over Brackenridge on Thursday and then blew out the Eagles in Game 2 the next day to close out their second-round playoff series and advance to the next round.

Boerne High’s perfect playoff run continues after the Hound hardball team swept El Campo last weekend in two different locations.

The Cypress Christian baseball team defeated Geneva School of Boerne on the final play of the game during Monday’s TAPPS DIII state semifinals game in Arlington. It was tied 5-5 in the bottom of the seventh when the Warriors scored the winning run for a walkoff victory. With the bases loaded, Cypress Christian brought in the game winner with a hit to right field. The contest didn’t start until 8:20 and ended after 11 p.m. on Monday. Over the next 12–15 years, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) will open six new state parks from Big Bend to the Hill Country and Texas coast. Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine highlights these future getaways in a special May commemorative issue, on newsstands now.

The Boerne High softball team won a pair of two-run ball games after the Lady Greyhounds defeated El Campo last week at Del Valle in the third round of the 4A playoffs, 4-2 and 2-0. BHS (28-9) advances to the fourth round where they’ll play a one-gamer Thursday against Alice in Jourdanton, 7 p.m.

AUSTIN – For the second straight season, Boerne High’s Tori Adams has earned a silver medal at the 4A state track and field meet in the girls shot put.

Geneva School of Boerne sent three track and field athletes to this year’s TAPPS 4A State Track and Field Meet held in Waco May 5-6 and one of the Eagles was crowned state champ.

The best baseball season in Geneva School of Boerne history continues after the Eagles defeated Brentwood Christian on Tuesday, 4-2, and advanced to the TAPPS DIII state tournament.

Three Boerne ISD teams – Champion and Boerne baseball, along with BHS softball – continued in the playoffs this weekend. All three held Game 1s on Thursday and all three won the first game of their respective series.

Three Boerne ISD basketball players – two from Champion and one from Boerne High – played at the recent San Antonio Area Association of Basketball Coaches Girls All-Star Game.

More than 40 Boerne High and Boerne Champion High School Student-Athletes have earned a spot on the Texas High School Coaches Association All-State Academic Team.

Six different Boerne Champion boys basketball players were recognized by the coaches from District 26-5A.
