AUSTIN – Gov. Greg Abbott Monday honored peace officers, firefighters, and first responders who demonstrated profound heroism and sacrifice while performing their duties to their communities and the State of Texas at the 2023 Star Of Texas Awards in Austin.

Seventeen Boerne and Champion High School students have earned the AP Capstone Diploma during the 2022-23 school year.

COMFORT -- A select group of Hill Country artists will demonstrate, display, and sell their works representing a variety of media from oil paintings and pottery to glasswork at the 2023 Comfort Art Festival 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, September 16.

The deadline for artists’ applications to exhibit and sell at this year’s festival is Sept. 15; a few spots remain. Artists can reserve a booth for a fee; commission is not required. Art and craft beer will be judged, and winners announced, during the festival. For tickets and details, go too: www. boernebierfest.org.
