AUSTIN – Car seats work. Just ask Mandy Watson who was in a head-on crash with her 11-monthold and 5-year-old as they were going to lunch more than a decade ago.

In the heart of Boerne, nestled on the sprawling 60-acre historic Herff Farm, sits The Nest, a unique, growing preschool. Assistant Director Holly Campbell shared her experience and what makes The Nest Nature School so special Campbell moved to Boerne from San Antonio in the ‘90s. She admits moving from the city was a difficult transition. “It was hard to fit in. Kids already had their friend groups. You know, small towns can be a little more cliquey.”

More than 150 students from Boerne High School and Boerne Champion High School have earned academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs.

Hill Country Daily Bread Ministry will again participate in The Big Give annual fundraiser, which runs 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, through 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21.

Jennifer McCall, a lifelong conservative Republican, has announced her candidacy for Kendall County Commissioner Precinct 1. She will file to run in the Republican primary being held on March 5, 2024.

Christina Bergmann, a fifth generation founding family member with a long, family history of service and engagement in Kendall County, has announced her intention to seek re-election as Kendall County Precinct 1 Commissioner in the March 2024 Republican primary.

AUSTIN -- The next 2023 Governor’s Small Business Summit will be held in Fredericksburg on Thursday, Sept. 21, with Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott as guest speaker.
