* Winter Prairie Bird Workshop, Cibolo Nature Center, 9 a. m. to noon. Calling all bird lovers: attend this workshop to learn about identifying local sparrows by their field marks. Attendees will also be invited to participate in a bird survey at The Cibolo Preserve, an area usually closed off to the public. * Winter in Yellowstone/ American Buffalo Ar tist Talks, Galler y 195 of Boerne, 2- 6: 30 p. m. Award- winning nature and wildlife photographer James Heupel, will be giving talks in the galler y on the American Buffalo, the National Mammal of the United States, accompanied by photographs. This is a family friendly event. The talks will run concurrently, from 4- 7 p. m., with an Artist Spotlight event featuring photographer James Heupel and artist Julie Jarvis in ‘Gather and Capture’ at an Artist Spotlight Reception. The evening will showcase these two artists, who feature nature and natural materials in their respective works.
