Both the Boerne ISD tennis teams hosted district matches earlier this week and picked up league wins.
Champion hosted Smithson Valley Tuesday and Boerne welcomed Ingram Wednesday.
They’ll both take the holiday weekend off and play again this coming week.
The Chargers tangle with Alamo Heights Wednesday, 4 p.m., while the Greyhounds are also in action Wednesday and host Bandera, 4 p.m.
Champion
The Chargers were trailing the Rangers, 3-4, after doubles play but turned the corner in singles play and defeated Smithson Valley, 11-7, after taking 8 of 11 singles matches.
Bradley Gunnells clinched the victory by winning his third-set tiebreaker match.
Champion improves to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in district.
Boerne High
The Greyhounds didn’t have too many problems with Ingram Wednesday and claimed the 18-1 victory over the Warriors.
It was the district opener for the Greyhounds which improved to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in district.
After playing this coming Wednesday vs. Bandera, the Hounds are scheduled to play Health Careers Friday.
