The Geneva School of Boerne continued its season with its second road game of the year Friday when the Eagles visited Dilley.
After scoring 63 points last week, the Geneva offense was kept off the board as the Wolves went on to defeat the Eagles, 23-7.
Dilley stays unbeaten at 2-0, while the Eagles suffered their first loss of the year and slips to 1-1.
Geneva looks to get back on track Friday with its home opener in Boerne when the Eagles take on La Pryor.
In Friday’s game at Dilley, neither team was able to get much going and the first quarter ended with the teams tied at 0-0, but things picked up in the second stanza.
Dilley tallied 10 points with a touchdown and a field goal, while the Geneva defense helped out with a score that ended up being their only TD of the night.
JonMichael Raimondo intercepted a pass and went the other way for a Pick 6 score to make it 10-7 at the break after the extra point by Walker Cone.
It was all Dilley in the second half as they scored 13 points to pull away from the Eagles.
The Wolves punched it in for six more points and the PAT with 1:30 left in the third for the 17-7 advantage.
From there, the home team tacked on one more score to open up the 23-7 lead. They missed the extra point but it didn’t matter since the Eagles offense had a hard time finding any kind of rhythm.
