Carson Clark cards hole in one

Boerne resident and TMI sophomore Carson Clark recorded an ace on the 11th hole at Tapatio Springs. Clark used a pitching iron from the white tees that measured 129 yards that day. The event was witnessed by friends Colton Shaver and Daniel Fernandez. Clark, 16, has been playing golf for about a year.

Planners say no to high-density plan

The Boerne Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday took a hard stance against the unbridled growth invading the Hill Country by voting down a zoning request allowing the densely populated “horizontal apartments” aimed at Old Fredericksburg Road.

Scouting adventure

Eight members of Boy Scout Troop 102, chartered by Boerne’s First United Methodist Church, recently returned from BSA Seabase located at Islamorada in the Florida Keys. The Scouts sailed more than 100 nautical miles on a 43-foot sailboat for six days while stopping to snorkel at coral reefs and shipwrecks. The Scouts were able to observe many species of fish, sharks, rays, sea turtles and more. They learned to steer and operate the sails on the ship and were able to fish in allowed areas.
