After the Boerne baseball team didn’t score in the top of the first inning, they made up for it in the second frame by scoring 11 runs.

After the Boerne baseball team didn’t score in the top of the first inning, they made up for it in the second frame by scoring 11 runs.

The Hounds added 2 in the third on a home run and another in the fifth to get its 14 runs over the Texans and defeat them, 14-1.

BHS improves to 18-2 overall and 5-0 in district. After playing each team one time in district through the first round, they’ll now face each squad twice a week going forward to complete three rounds.

This week, the Hounds play Bandera twice and will be at Bandera Tuesday and host the Bulldogs Friday.

In last Friday’s game, Boerne sent 14 batters to the plate in the second to get its 11 runs. The Hounds had 6 hits, including a triple and a double, 4 walks and a hit batter to inflict its damage. With two outs in the inning, the Greyhounds managed to send six batters to the plate and score 9 of its 11 runs. Brooks Perez homered in the third for 2 more runs.

Besides the Brooks Perez homer, Dylan Perez tripled, drove in 3 runs and scored twice, Jace Preston doubled and singled, picked up 2 RBI and scored twice.

Riley Pechacek finished with 2 hits, 1 RBI and 2 runs scored, Cam Johnson singled and scored, Hutson Hendrix singled and walked and scored 2 runs, Cale Blalock knocked out 2 singles, scored a run and drove in a run, Caleb Cloutier walked, scored and collected an RBI, while Walker Hill singled and scored.

Landon Lestourgeon went all 5 innings and only gave up 3 hits and 1 run. He walked just 1 and struck out 7.
