The mid-term election on Tuesday, Nov. 8, will be here before you know it. If you will be out of town on Election Day and during early voting (I’m talking to you, you young folks headed away to college soon), now’s the time to apply to vote by mail (sometimes also called “absentee voting”).

Boerne ISD School Resource Officers

The Boerne Independent School District recently introduced its 2022-23 School Resource Officers. As reported by The Star in June, Boerne ISD, along with the Boerne and Fair Oaks Ranch police departments and the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, assigned each Boerne ISD campus with a designated School Resource Officer beginning in the 2022-23 school year.

Student Honors

Dylan Pegg of Boerne was named to the Dean’s List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the spring 2022 semester. Pegg is in the game design and development program. Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean’s List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete,” “D” or “F” and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit

Artist specializes in scratchboard engraving

Michelle Hortsman, the Boerne Art League’s artist of the month, has loved art and creativity of all kinds since she was a young child. Although she does paint and draw, her main area of work is in scratchboard engraving.
