The Genealogical Society of Kendall County, the Kerrville Genealogical Society and the Comfort Heritage Foundation have joined to sponsor “May Fest, A Celebration of Family History” at Comfort Park, 446 Broadway in Comfort from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30.

The Senior Thesis is the capstone to a Geneva School of Boerne education. The program begins with seniors researching issues around a controversial topic. They then write a formal academic paper to focus on crafting strong arguments and finally shift that content into an engaging and persuasive presentation.

The AARP Tax Aide Foundation volunteers have provided free tax service at the Patrick Heath Public LIbrary for 14 years. This year, the Boerne location sent 1,002 e-filed returns – more than any other site in Texas, including Dallas and Houston. Early voting began Monday for local elections and two proposed constitutional amendments relating to property tax reductions. Early voting continues through Tuesday, May 3, with election day on Saturday, May 7.

Boerne has a superior water system that often is taken for granted. Our water utility has three sources of water that take care of our customers: Boerne Lake, Canyon Lake and underground wells. Over the years, that mix has changed, and more water comes from Canyon Lake than anywhere else.

The very first library in Boerne opened its doors to the public 70 years ago, in 1952.

According to Micah Voulgaris at the Cow Creek Groundwater Conservation District, we have received 1.77 inches of rain in 2022, less than the 2.02 inches received from January through April in 1954, the worst oneyear drought on record.
