Not everyone realizes that there are two separate elections in May. There’s the runoff for Congress and other partisan offices on May 24 and the less well-known Constitutional Amendment election on May 7. There are two propositions on the May 7 ballot; both are related to property taxes.

After a two-year hiatus, the Boerne ISD German program hosted its German Spelling Bee – Bezirksbuchstabiene. Boerne High School’s Cole Grotjohn was the overall first place grand champion, with Champion’s Austin Roche earning second place and Boerne High’s Haily Muir ending up third.

Boerne ISD seniors Luke Garver (Champion) and Emily Boerner (Boerne) have been named Exceptional Senior Award winners for the Class of 2022 by U.S Congressman Chip Roy, R-Texas 21. The annual award is presented to stellar seniors across Texas’ 21st Congressional District for the graduating Class of 2022. The winners are students who have consistently displayed high levels of character, leadership, integrity and diligence through their philanthropic activities, academic success and reputations among peers and teachers. Garver will attend West Point in the fall while Boerner will attend the University of Dallas.
