I enjoy making lists.

Not everyone realizes that there are two separate elections in May. There’s the runoff for Congress and other partisan offices on May 24 and the less well-known Constitutional Amendment election on May 7. There are two propositions on the May 7 ballot; both are related to property taxes.

Today, roughly one in four divorces involve those over age 50, and the trend has garnered its own nickname: “Gray divorce.” The divorce rates for this demographic have doubled in the past 30 years and tripled for those over 65, according a study. According to Bloomberg.

When you reach the appropriate age, it’s easy to apply for Social Security retirement benefits – just go to Social Security’s website, fill out the online form and you’re essentially done.

After a two-year hiatus, the Boerne ISD German program hosted its German Spelling Bee – Bezirksbuchstabiene. Boerne High School’s Cole Grotjohn was the overall first place grand champion, with Champion’s Austin Roche earning second place and Boerne High’s Haily Muir ending up third.

Boerne ISD seniors Luke Garver (Champion) and Emily Boerner (Boerne) have been named Exceptional Senior Award winners for the Class of 2022 by U.S Congressman Chip Roy, R-Texas 21. The annual award is presented to stellar seniors across Texas’ 21st Congressional District for the graduating Class of 2022. The winners are students who have consistently displayed high levels of character, leadership, integrity and diligence through their philanthropic activities, academic success and reputations among peers and teachers. Garver will attend West Point in the fall while Boerner will attend the University of Dallas.

HCCArts is pleased to announce its lineup for Series 3 of the 2022 Art AfterHours classes. They take place from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays in the comfort of The Classroom at the AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, 102 City Park Road in Boerne.
