The Hill Country Cattlewomen conducted its final monthly meeting of the summer at the Doss General Store and Café.
Several Cattlewomen were recognized for their service and contributions.
Kitty-Sue Quinn and Teri Hartmann were awarded Cattlewoman of the Year and Behind the Scenes Cattlewoman of the Year, respectfully. Quinn has served as president and treasurer. During her tenure as president, and in spite of the pandemic shutdown, Quinn ran a successful fundraiser to support HCCW scholarships and the promotion of BEEF. Hartmann has served as recording secretary and was recently elected 1st vice president.
Several past presidents were in attendance at the meeting, including Beverly Baker, Carol Zesch, Karen Schneider, Vicki Miller and Fran Hawkins. Bernice Jenschke, one of HCCW charter members, also attended and was recognized for her continued support and generosity since the beginning of HCCW.
Several members were acknowledged for perfect attendance at the HCCW monthly meetings. Finally, a special award was given to Joyce Jenschke in thanks for her continued support of HCCW and the delicious baked goodies she brings.
The Hill Country Cattlewomen’s membership covers 14 counties in the Texas Hill Country, including Kendall. Members meet eight times each year in different areas of the Hill Country. They do not meet in the months of July, August, November and December.
The next monthly meeting will be Sept. 20 in Llano. Location to be announced.
