Three people were arrested last week by federal authorities in connection with a human smuggling incident that left 53 migrants dead. The migrants were discovered inside a tractor-trailer on San Antonio’s Southwest Side, according to the San Antonio Express-News. The Centurions of Kendall County recently elected new officers for 2022-23. They took office at the Centurions’ annual installation ceremony at Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club. The new officers are, from left: Historian Ken Nietenhoefer, Secretary Randy Niemeier, Treasurer Justin Boerner, President Paul Duran and Vice President Donnie Poitenent. The Centurions of Kendall County is a nonprofit association dedicated to the enrichment of life in Kendall County. As part of the ongoing Interstate 10 frontage road work, the Texas Department of Transportation announced on Thursday that the contractor is progressing into the last stage of construction for the new Highway 87 bridge.
