AUSTIN — Today, Texas Secretary of State John Scott announced that he will resign from office at the end of the year to return to his private legal practice. Secretary Scott officially began serving as Texas Secretary of State on October 28, 2021, after being appointed by Governor Greg Abbott on October 21, 2021. During his time in office, Secretary Scott presided over four major statewide elections in 2022 and worked continuously to educate Texas voters and the public about the election process, with the goal of restoring confidence in the security of the state’s election systems. Secretary Scott also oversaw the forensic audit of the 2020 General Election in Texas and will release the findings of the audit before departing on December 31, 2022.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick outlined his goals for the upcoming legislative session, calling them “general concepts,” according to the Austin American-Statesman.

SAN ANTONIO – The fireworks started early for the Boerne High football team after McCoy Bruce took the opening kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown in Friday’s fourth-round playoff game against Calallen.

JORDANTON – School football records continue to tumble as Boerne High’s historic season rolls along.

Boerne High had four volleyball players named to one of the 27-4A All-District teams as voted upon by the league’s coaches.

Boerne Champion hosted Alamo Heights in a girls non-district basketball game on Tuesday and defeated the Mules, 59-45.

SAN ANTONIO – The Boerne Champion boys basketball team put its perfect record on the line Monday when the Chargers visited San Antonio for a game against Marshall.

The Boerne High boys basketball team continued its season Monday in San Antonio against John Jay at Taylor Field House and tamed the Mustangs.
