Gov. Greg Abbott, in a State of the State address last Thursday, outlined his seven top priorities for the ongoing legislative session before an invitation-only audience at a manufacturing facility in San Marcos, the Austin American-Statesman reported. Those priorities include $4 billion for border security, property tax relief and more school choice for parents, which he called “education freedom.” He avoided use of the word “vouchers.’

FAIR OAKS RANCH– The city held its annual State of the City event at the Fair Oaks Ranch Golf and Country Club. SAN ANTONIO – Boerne Champion made it a clean sweep at the recent Region VII-5A Swimming and Diving Championships after both the boys and girls teams captured first place.

YOAKUM – Boerne’s second- round playoff contest against Sealy turned into the Jamie Ruede and Averi Aaron show as the duo propelled the Lady Greyhounds to a 56-27 victory.

Strong reaches 100th career victory

Both the Geneva School of Boerne basketball teams opened the postseason and the girls have advanced to the regional tourney, while the boys season has ended.

Both the Geneva School of Boerne varsity soccer teams participated in their recent district tournaments.

The Boerne Champion boys basketball team was fighting for second place in the district standings heading into Tuesday’s regular-season finale at Veterans Memorial but had a tough task against the 26-5A champs Patriots.
