Three Boerne-Champion High School student films qualified for the finals in the 2023 UIL Young Filmmakers Festival.

Two entries in the Traditional Animation category qualified for the film festival, Caroline Cabral’s film “Lifeline”, as well as the team of Devin Jensen, Seth Lane, Christopher Harris, and Tanner Charlton’s film “Maki”. The team of Jen Neubauer, Samara Gonzalez, Jackson Majetich, and Hegan Martin qualified in the Narrative category with their film “Saphris”. Over 700 entries from throughout the state competed in the categories of Digital Animation, Traditional Animation, Narrative, and Documentary, with only the top six from each category advancing to the finals.

The UIL Young Filmmakers Festival will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd at the LBJ Auditorium at the University of Texas.
