Pantego's Tristan Brown ran for five touchdowns, threw for another and also intercepted a pass as the Panthers went on to defeat the Geneva School of Boerne Friday night in the first round of the TAPPS playoffs.
The Brown-led Panthers won Friday's game, 47-27, to end the Eagles' season at 6-5.
Five turnovers also hurt the Geneva's chances after the Pantego defense came up with three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. One of the Geneva fumbles came at the Pantego 1-yard line to kill a good-looking Eagles' drive.
Despite the loss, Eagles coach Grant Gaston said it was a great season. They put together consecutive winning seasons for the first time since the 2018-19 seasons and are a very young team that will only graduate five players.
