Several community leaders took to the lectern Wednesday night in Comfort, and they all shared one common message: The community must play a role in keeping drugs out of Kendall County.

The Boerne Independent School District announced new principals at three campuses for the 2022-23 academic year. The appointments were shared during the BISD board of trustees meeting on Monday.

While a presentation from city staff indicated the city’s current water resources could handle a population up to about 35,000 to 40,000, a Boerne water committee is looking to alternative 100-year solutions for the city. However, some of these solutions may be tied to some controversial legislative efforts out of a neighboring metropolitan city.

For the first time since the study’s inception, Caring.com’s 2021 Wills and Estate Planning Study found that young adults are now more likely to have an estate plan than middle-aged adults.

On May 24, voters in Kendall County, as well as Gillespie, Blanco and Burnet counties and the far western part of Travis County, will pick between the two Republican runoff candidates to see who will represent that side of the ballot in November and seek to become the new Texas House District 19 representative.

A 10-year Boerne Police Department veteran, Sgt. Pablo Morales, was arrested in the early morning hours Monday on a domestic violence charge.

Early voting in the May 24 primary runoff elections ends Friday, May 20. Under state law, voters who cast ballots in either party’s primary election must vote only in the same party’s runoff election. Voters who did not cast ballots in the primary may vote in either party’s runoff election.

The Unified Development Code adopted and overhauled by the Boerne City Council and staff last year has lived up to the council’s claim of being a “living, breathing” document.

More questions than answers seemed to arise during a presentation to the countywide transportation committee earlier this month regarding traffic data compiled on major thoroughfares around Kendall County and the city of Boerne.
