As the sun set over Boerne ISD Stadium Thursday night, it marked the end of the high school careers of 491 Champion High School graduates. But, if the speeches read to the graduating class that night ring true, 982 bright eyes are set on the future.

The salary for a firstyear teacher in the Boerne Independent School District will increase nearly 4 percent from the current rate for the 2022-23 academic year. The district’s trustees approved the pay hike, as well as the entire employee compensation plan, during their May meeting.
