While water access remains stable in Boerne for now, city officials are eyeing solutions to serve the growth of the city in the next 100 years.

The 31-year-old man convicted of intoxicated manslaughter for a second time was sentenced to prison Thursday, closing out the family of the deceased’s decade-long fight for justice.

Brent Evans, co-founder of the Cibolo Center for Conservation with his wife, Carolyn Chipman Evans, led about 30 attendees through a presentation on how to raise chickens on Saturday at Herff Farm. The seminar included visits to the chicken coop and hatchery on the property, as well as advice on how to communicate with a chicken, using 5-year-old Colton Berry as an example, and how to hold one. Bethany Aguilar sells lemonade from her elaborate stand on the shady side of Main Street on Sunday afternoon for the second year in a row as part of the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce’s annual Lemonade Day. Last year, 50 percent of her proceeds were donated to the Christian Assistant Ministry to help with an annual Christmas drive. This year, Aguilar was donating half her income to Soldiers’ Angels to help purchase paracord bracelets for active-duty military personnel. Following the 2022 trend, April didn’t bring enough showers to bring May flowers.

Two middle-schoolaged boys escaped serious injury on Friday afternoon when they crossed Main Street away from a crosswalk and one of them was struck by a vehicle. Everyone involved was released from the scene by the Boerne Police Department after officers conducted their investigation.
