An accident Monday afternoon left a 4-yearold child dead and a mother and two more of her children hospitalized after her vehicle inexplicably flipped along eastbound Interstate 10 on the north side of Boerne.

A 36-year-old San Antonio resident, Larry Isaac, was sentenced to 35 years in state prison last week for possessing 32 grams of methamphetamine.

As wildfires raged in North Texas earlier this month, a group of Boerne area men decided to do what they could to help the farmers and ranchers in the affected communities.

With wildfires burning up the Hill Country, including three that burned hundreds of acres in Kendall County over the last week, the Kendall County Commissioners Court is considering an emergency declaration that would impact local workers.

Much of the state remains at considerable risk for wildfires through this week, largely because of higher-than-usual temperatures and drought conditions.
