The Cana Ballroom was abuzz with more than 250 educators, administrators, local and San Antonio officials and guests as the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual Boerne Independent School District State of the District luncheon Thursday.

The ever-changing and complicated development on the 344-acre lot at 418 Ammann Road has changed names yet again, but the newest owner is making some efforts to work with Fair Oaks Ranch city officials and residents to get the property built out.

A 33-year-old Comfort resident, Andres Cervantes, was found not guilty by a jury of his peers last week for the charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 years of age.

The Boerne Concert Band performed “Musica de Primavera” Sunday night in the Boerne High School Auditorium under the direction of Larry Schmidt, above right. A number of statewide races are headed for a May 24 runoff after the votes were tallied in the March 1 primary.

February was a cool month in Boerne as far as temperatures throughout the 28 days were concerned, but it also was a dry month and the third month in a row that less than one inch of precipitation was recorded in the city.

After 8,343 Kendall County residents cast their ballots, or about 29 percent of the total number of registered voters, Shane Stolarcyzk and Chris Taylor came away as the top two county judge candidates and will face off in a runoff election May 24.

About 30 people crowded the training room at the Boerne Police Department on a sunny Sunday afternoon late last month, all gathering to honor a young Boy Scout’s promotion to Eagle Scout status.

Andra Wisian took a strong lead in the polls in Tuesday’s GOP March primary and is set to face off against Leon Brimhall in a May 24 runoff election for the Kendall County Precinct 2 commissioner seat.
