Stunned disbelief.

SAN ANTONIO – Friday’s second-round playoff game between Champion and Jefferson was anybody’s for the taking.

Boerne High held off a hot-shooting Brazosport team Friday night in Yoakum to advance to the third round of the 4A boys basketball playoffs.

Boerne High’s Landon Murphy recently signed a national letter of intent to continue his soccer career at Hardin-Simmons University. Landon was part of Boerne’s state championship soccer team last year and was named the boys 4A state tournament MVP. 

Boerne Champion’s Kate Williams recently signed a national letter of intent to run cross country and track at Abilene Christian University. 

The Champion track and field team opened its 2022 season at the Northside ISD meet where the varsity girls finished with 126 points for 2nd and the boys were 3rd with 132 points.

The Comfort High and Geneva School of Boerne boys basketball team opened the playoffs last week and were both knocked out in the first round.

Boerne Champion played in the shortened NEISD Softball Tournament last week and only played two games, but the good news is that the Chargers won both of them.

Boerne Champion opened its 2022 baseball season by playing in the Northside ISD tournament.

The Boerne High baseball team picked up three shutout wins at the abbreviated Somerset tourney last week.

Both the Boerne Champion varsity soccer teams took on Dripping Springs in district action last week and lost to the Tigers on Friday.

Boerne High locked horns with the Battlin’ Billies to kick off the second round of district soccer last Friday. The Lady Greyhounds were on the road and the BHS boys were at home and both Boerne teams came up with victories.
