Chargers take Game 1 over Smithson Valley
Geneva’s best baseball season in program history came to a heartbreaking end after the Eagles were defeated in the TAPPS DIII state semifinals Monday night in Arlington by Cypress Christian on the final play of the game.
The Lady Chargers girls golf team wrapped up its 2022-23 season earlier this week at the 5A state tournament held Monday and Tuesday at the White Wing Golf Club in Georgetown.
AUSTIN – A total of 12 Champion athletes qualified for last weekend’s 5A state track and field meet in Austin and one of the Chargers earned a gold medal after freshman Elizabeth Leachman won the 1600.
Boerne Greyhounds Girls Basketball Coach Amy Ruede was named the 2023 Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Girls Basketball Coach of the Year presented by Texas Farm Bureau Insurance. Ruede was presented the award in a surprise ceremony at Greyhound Gym with her family and team in attendance on Tuesday morning.
Geneva School of Boerne’s Athletic Director Eric Boerboom is stepping down to take another role at a school in Houston. He served at Geneva for nine years.
Alyse Zingelmann has been hired as the new Boerne Champion girls soccer coach. Zingelmann replaces Kara Walters, who is stepping away from coaching.
The rescheduled Tapatio Springs Men’s Golf Association Cowboys & Cowgirls Golf Tournament dodged some rain but was played to completion recently.
A total of 10 Boerne High boys basketball players, along with their coach, were honored by the District 27-4A coaches.
AUSTIN – The Champion track and field season ended last weekend at Mike Myers Stadium in Austin at the 5A state track and field meet and one Charger became a state champion.
SOMERSET – The Champion baseball team picked up a narrow win over Brackenridge on Thursday and then blew out the Eagles in Game 2 the next day to close out their second-round playoff series and advance to the next round.
