Greyhounds dominate 27-4A all-district selections

A total of 10 Boerne High boys basketball players, along with their coach, were honored by the District 27-4A coaches.

Greyhounds coach Kimble McHone was voted by the other district coaches as the 27-4A Coach of the Year, while seniors Barrett Pape and Houston Hendrix were named the District MVPs.

Senior Trevor Agarwal was named the Offensive MVP and senior Koen Wolff was voted as the Defensive MVP.

Senior Colton Hoegemeyer and junior Sam Holland were both first- team selections, sophomore Jaxon Baize was a second-team pick, while sophomore Hutson Hendrix, sophomore Casen Hoegemeyer and senior Sam Waters all made the honorable mention team.

It was another outstanding season for the BHS boys team that won the regional title for the third straight season. The Hounds went undefeated in district at 12-0 and haven’t dropped a league game since the 2019-20 season.

Boerne finished the season at 32-6 and played in the state semifinals for the third straight year. At this year’s state tourney in the Alamodome, the Greyhounds were defeated by Houston Washington in the 4A state semifinals, 75-69. The Hounds beat JFK, Iowa Colony, La Vernia, Somerset and Stafford to make it to state and earn bronze medals.

Also for the Hounds, Pape, Houston Hendrix, Wolf and Agarwal were named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-Region Team and Pape was named a TABC All-State player.
