Ruede named THSCA Coach of the Year

Boerne Greyhounds Girls Basketball Coach Amy Ruede was named the 2023 Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Girls Basketball Coach of the Year presented by Texas Farm Bureau Insurance. Ruede was presented the award in a surprise ceremony at Greyhound Gym with her family and team in attendance on Tuesday morning.

Boerne Greyhounds Girls Basketball Coach Amy Ruede was named the 2023 Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Girls Basketball Coach of the Year presented by Texas Farm Bureau Insurance. Ruede was presented the award in a surprise ceremony at Greyhound Gym with her family and team in attendance on Tuesday morning.

Ruede, who won the THSCA Region 8 Girls Basketball Coach of the Year Award to become a finalist for the statewide honor, stood out among nominees from all classifications across Texas.

The Greyhounds girls basketball team made history as they advanced to the state Final Four for the second time in the past three seasons.

Boerne finished an amazing season with an overall record of 35-2. In the last two years, the Greyhounds have won 69 games and have lost only seven.

The Greyhounds have won state bronze medals in two of the past three seasons.

Coach Ruede is in her 14th season at BHS. She also serves as assistant team tennis coach in the fall, and teaches students in 11th grade United States History.
