May 25th will mark the last day of the 2022-23 school year for Boerne ISD- and what a year it has been!
BISD students won State Championships in Tennis, Swimming, Film, and the Citizen Bee, as well as earned silver and bronze medals in various sports and activities such as Football, Water Polo, Soccer, Basketball, One Act Play, and more. Our Fine Arts programs shined again this year, having earned Superior and Excellent ratings during competitions.
Several BISD Principals, Teachers, Staff, and Coaches earned statewide and regional recognitions for their success as well.
We will celebrate the Boerne and Champion Class of 2023 on May 25th and 26th. Thousands of well-wishers will be in attendance at each commencement ceremony and BISD Stadium will be filled with purple and blue as friends and family celebrate their loved ones' milestones. It is always heartwarming to see the smiles and tears of joy on the graduates faces as they embark on the next phase of their lives.
Speaking of the Class of 2023, they received a reported total of nearly $22 million dollars in scholarship money. Champion and Boerne seniors each amassed a total of an estimated $11 million dollars in scholarships.
In all, over 800 BISD graduates of the Class of 2023, 320 at BHS and 500 at CHS, will either attend college or universities, trade schools, enter the military or the workforce.
As we transition to the next chapter, BISD will host nearly 1,000 students for summer school in June and July. Students will have the opportunity to attend exciting classes such as Minecraft, Coding, Bilingual courses, and more. Summer school provides additional learning opportunities for our students.
Before we know it, the 2023-24 school year will begin on August 10th, where we will welcome more than 11,000 students back to our campuses.
As always, thank you for your tremendous support. We look forward to another successful school year starting in the fall!
