Hill Country Family Services staff members traveled to Tennessee in late March to visit “The Store” in Nashville. The Store was created by Brad Paisley and his wife, Kimberly Williams Paisley, to help individuals and families during times of economic crisis. Dunia Garcia, HCFS director of Client Services, and Rhonda McNeill, HCFS manager of Food and Nutrition Services, met with the Paisleys and brought back a number of best practices for providing nutritional assistance during economic crises. Both The Store and Hill Country Family Services’ Corner Cupboard are self-selection food pantries intended to assist families in financial crisis for short periods of time. Both organizations provide high-quality foods to meet their clients’ essential nutritional needs as they seek to overcome a short-term crisis. To learn more about Hill Country Family Services, contact Staci Almager by email at staci.almager@hcfstx. org or by phone at 210-218-1330.
