The Greyhounds recorded 12 hits, including a triple, 4 doubles and 6 singles. The team was led by Cam Johnson who finished with 5 hits and 7 RBI.

Boerne’s batting prowess allowed them to beat the Wolves, 13-8.

BHS improves to 22-2 and 4-0 in district. They will play two games against Canyon Lake this week. Tuesday’s game is at home and Thursday’s will be at the Hawks home field.

Davenport held a 1-0 lead in the first on Friday but the Hounds answered with 4 in the bottom of the second for the 4-1 lead.

The Wolves were able to score 4 in the top of the third but BHS answered with 4 of its own in the bottom half of the inning to retake the lead at 8-5.

The Hounds never trailed after that and added 3 more in the fifth to open up a 11-5 advantage.

Davenport pushed in 3 runs in the sixth, 2 of them on a 2-run shot, to make it 11-8 but the Hounds got two of those runs back in the bottom of the sixth with a Johnson triple for the 5-run cushion at 13-8.

The Boerne defense turned a double play in the top of the seventh and got a pop up to right to end it.

Johnson finished with a triple, double, 3 singles, 7 RBI, 1 run scored and 1 walk; Rashawn Galloway doubled and took 2 walks; Riley Pechacek doubled and singled and pushed in 2 runs and Andrew Poole doubled and singled.

Tyler Garritano and Kalob Sanchez both singled with Garritano scoring 2 runs and Sanchez scoring a run and picking up an RBI. Connor Shill and Jake Wright both crossed home plate once, Max Garcia scored 2 runs and Jaxon Baize scored 4 times.

Andrew Poole went 3 innings on the hill and picked up the win. He gave up 5 hits, 3 earned runs, while he fanned 3 and walked 3.

Landon Lestourgeon tossed 2.2 innings and yielded 3 hits and 3 runs, sat down 6 with no walks and Sanchez finished it out to earn the save and surrendered 3 hits and no runs.
