I started out my July article with the following: “Well, we’ve certainly had awful skies this entire spring, awful for astronomy, that is. I love it when it rains, and we had a lot of rain in April, May, and early June. However, that has meant very few nights of clear skies.”

As this summer comes to a close, we are giving out some Hollywood-themed prizes to teens who participated in our summer programs.

AUSTIN -- Edward L. Rogers from Boerne was sworn in as Deputy Speaker Pro Tempore of the 20th Texas Silver-Haired Legislature (TSHL) at its orientation session held July 16-20.

BOERNE -- For the second year in a row, the Boerne Independent School District received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

The Kendall County Historical Commission (KCHC) has been awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Texas Historical Commission for managing history and preservation programs that enrich Texas communities.
