Shane Stolarczyk will become Kendall County’s next judge after he defeated Chris Taylor in Tuesday’s Republican runoff election.
Unofficial results from the Kendall County Elections Office as of 9 p.m. showed Stolarczyk garnered 3,867 votes, or 57.1 percent. Taylor got 2,902 votes, or 42.9 percent.
Voter turnout was 21.4 percent.
In the other Kendall County race, Andra Wisian defeated Leon Brimhall by a 1,421-591 tally for the Precinct 2 seat on the Commissioners Court. Wisian earned 70.6 percent of the votes in that precinct.
Just like in the judge race, there are no Democrats on the ballot, meaning both Stolarczyk and Wisian will be seated in January.
In the third race of local interest, Ellen Troxclair was leading Justin Berry for the Republican nomination for the District 19 seat in the Texas House. Troxclair carried Kendall County with 55 percent of the vote. Overall, as of 9 p.m. Tuesday, Troxclair had 57.1 percent of the total votes that had been counted in District 19, which includes Kendall, Gillespie, Blanco and Burnet counties and the western edge of Travis County.
The winner advances to the November ballot.
