The city of Boerne is going through one of its worst late spring – or anytime – heat waves in its history as triple-digit temperatures have been semi-regular during the first half of June as have daily record highs.

Kendall County’s groundwater district has moved the unincorporated areas of the county into Stage 3 drought conditions as water levels continue to drop and water ceases to fall from the sky, leaving the area in drought conditions of historic proportion.

The Geneva School of Boerne announced that Aaron Southwick has been named Logic School headmaster “to provide leadership to the faculty, staff and students in grades 6-8.”

Boerne Noon Rotary Club members spent early Tuesday morning putting up American flags along Main Street and other downtown areas in observance of Flag Day, which was June 14. The activity is one of the things the local Rotary Club does as a service organization. A founder of the local chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays and Touchstone Community Church pastor said the group’s efforts in Boerne – including the 5th annual Boerne Pride Walk last Saturday – are leading to positive change for local members of the LGBTQ community. But she said there’s still work to be done.
