The 451st District Court was in full swing Thursday morning as Fourth Administrative Judicial Region Judge Sid Harle ran through the felony docket, overseeing plea deals and issuing warrants for those who failed to make their court date.

The city of Boerne recently earned a trio of honors from Texas-based magazines. The awards from “Austin Monthly,” “San Antonio Magazine” and Texas Music” were created to celebrate the top travel destinations and attractions across the Lone Star State, information from the city of Boerne stated.

The Centurions of Kendall County recently elected new officers for 2022-23. They took office at the Centurions’ annual installation ceremony at Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club. The new officers are, from left: Historian Ken Nietenhoefer, Secretary Randy Niemeier, Treasurer Justin Boerner, President Paul Duran and Vice President Donnie Poitenent. The Centurions of Kendall County is a nonprofit association dedicated to the enrichment of life in Kendall County. The organization has contributed over $1 million to various groups and individuals.

Kendall County Judge Darrel Lux issued a disaster declaration to ensure certain fireworks are neither sold nor set off in the county during this July 4 holiday weekend.

With water becoming more and more precious in the Hill Country and Texas as a whole, the Boerne City Council is gearing up to implement new incentives and restrictions to help in long-term conservation efforts.

In an effort to become more energy friendly, the Boerne Independent School District is hoping to add an electric bus to its fleet, maybe as soon as this coming academic year.

Kendall Batchelor, the 22-year-old charged with intoxicated manslaughter earlier this month, was arrested again last Friday for violating her bond conditions.

As part of the ongoing Interstate 10 frontage road work, the Texas Department of Transportation announced on Thursday that the contractor is progressing into the last stage of construction for the new Highway 87 bridge. That, in turn, necessitates transitioning the I-10 mainlane traffic from the current location to the segment that is currently a work area closed to traffic.
