Thankful for the hard work of county staff, officials

Bryce, what do you do exactly? Usually when I explain to folks what a social worker does, I tell them my job is to help connect the dots Almost a year ago I left UTSA’s Department of Social Work to work with mental and behavioral health here in Kendall County. I’m employed through a grant through Hill Country Family Services that specifically states that I work with our 2 mental health deputies with Kendall County Sheriff’s Office (Mike Cokerham and Michelle Quade), and Boerne PD (Rebecca Foley).

BOERNE BUSINESS BUZZ

BOERNE– A busload of ballers rolled down Main Street Friday afternoon as a local nonprofit lassoed the Brahmas XFL football team to town in honor of local soldiers for Veteran’s Appreciation Day.

The Moondance Outdoor Concert Series starts on Saturday, May 6th at the Cibolo Nature Center, and we are buzzing about it! Moondance has been a part of Boerne for over 20 years. In that time, friends and families from the community, and from far away, came to set up their lawn chairs under the lights of the Oak Motte to enjoy these outdoor summer night concerts at the Cibolo Nature Center. It’s an event we look forward to every year as a time to relax and let loose in the beauty and comfort of nature. These days, that’s a valuable thing.

The Texas Senate unanimously approved a $308 billion two-year budget last week, the Austin American- Statesman reported. The next step is to reconcile that budget with one passed earlier by the Texas House.

Terri Chidgey, Regent of George W. Kendall Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), presented the DAR JROTC Bronze Award to Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Eliza Jones at the Boerne-Champion JROTC 2022-2023 Awards Ceremony on April 21, 2023.
