Hello everyone, We have exciting things planned for the holiday season, and we hope you are all here to join in on the fun.
Boerne Boo
In October, the Youth Department and Boerne Animal Care Services partnered for Boerne Boo.
Children were so excited to get the chance to visit with a friendly, pet snake. They also let their imaginations run wild as they dressed up as their favorite characters.
At the end of the day, there was a costume contest where both a person and an animal had a chance to win a prize. The Boerne Animal Care Services provided the furry winner with an extravagant basket full of puppy toys and treats.
At the end of the night, around 3,500 people had attended, and children went home with happy faces and bags full of sugary treats.
Game On!, Mondays and Thursdays at 4 p.m.
We have so much fun in our ‘tween program Game On! each week.
If you have never been to Game On!, it is a program designed specifically for ‘tweens. At Game On!, we have a variety of fun, age- appropriate video games perfect for your children.
These games let the ‘tweens work together or compete as they build bonds and friendships.
Most of the time, this program is full of laughs and squeals as the kids try to beat the newest boss on Super Smash Bros, win races on Mario Kart, or work together to be champions on Wii Sports.
PAWS 4 Reading, Tuesdays at 4 p.m.
A dog is a reader’s best friend, at least they are on Tuesdays at the library.
We love visiting each week with Buddy and Dwight, dogs that are not only cute and cuddly, but also trained and certified to be with your children.
Kids can relax as they spend time with these loveable creatures, or they can practice their reading skills with an attentive listener. Either way, it is a privilege to have these wonderful pals in our library.
Bouncing on the Bed, Wednesdays at 5 p.m.
At the library, we love to cater to our community’s needs. Bouncing on the Bed is a program specifically designed for parents who cannot make it to morning or afternoon programs but still want to participate in library fun.
At Bouncing on the Bed, we love to get the kids moving with fun music and activities. Some of the children’s favorites are the balance beam, rhythm sticks, and parachute. This program is so much fun to put on, we hope parents and children love it as much as we do.
Freaky Friday, Fridays at 4 p.m.
Parents looking for afterschool fun for their kids -- look no further. Every Friday, the Youth Department has surprise activities planned for your little ones.
In October, we had an eclipse art craft, a watercolor day, and an October-themed movie day where we watched “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.”
We have much more in store for November, so don’t forget to stop by and see what exciting fun we have planned.
