SAN ANTONIO – By all measures it was a very successful year for the Champion boys and girls water polo teams in their inaugural seasons.

It was a good week for both the Boerne High and Boerne Champion team tennis programs.

Kendall Leininger, a student at Boerne Area Christian Homeschoolers (BACH), made the USA Triathlon Team and will have the opportunity to compete for the United States in Germany this summer.

Three of the area volleyball teams were in action Friday night as they continued district play, while Geneva School of Boerne was off.

After dropping its last two volleyball matches, Boerne Champion was able to snap its twomatch skid on Tuesday with a win at Veterans Memorial.

The Comfort volleyball team picked up its 21st win of the year on the road Tuesday at Florence.

Boerne High kicked off the second round of district volleyball action with a road trip to Davenport on Tuesday night.

District play is finally here for the Boerne High football team. The Greyhounds host Uvalde Friday at BISD Stadium, 7 p.m.

After a week off, the Boerne Champion football team will resume district play Friday with a road trip to Seguin to take on the Matadors.

The Geneva School of Boerne has one more football game on its schedule before the bye week and the start of district play.
