During your working years, you’ve probably met the costs of living through your salary. But once you retire, where will the money come from? Is there a way to give yourself a “paycheck” for retirement?

Three students at Boerne and Champion high schools have been named to the 2022 All-State Band. Boerne’s Savanna Strause (saxophone) and Connor West (trombone) were selected to the Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) All-State squad while Champion’s Ethan Ratliff (right) earned a spot on the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Band. This is the second year in a row that Ratliff has been named All-State. Becoming an allstate band member is one of the highest achievements an individual band student can earn, and less than 0.5 percent of all participants can earn the honor.

Several dozen school districts across the state were forced to close last week because of the omicron variant of COVID-19, sending home students, staff and teachers. Most school districts planned to reopen on Tuesday following the MLK holiday.

Q: My father treated me horribly when I was a child, so my relationship with him was strained and distant until the day he died. I never worked things out with him in person, and now I’m struggling with feelings of bitterness, anger and even a little guilt. How can I get past this?

The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce played host to a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to help celebrate the 2022 Kendall County Junior Livestock Show and Sale. The ceremony took place before the sale at the Kendall County Youth Agriculture and Equestrian Center. The Kendall County Jr. Livestock Show Association provides an opportunity for 4-H and FFA members to exhibit their livestock projects before the public fostering excellence in livestock production skills and practices.
