The National Recreation and Park Association ( NRPA) along with the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration have selected Texas State Parks as a finalist for the 2023 National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management.

Tapatio Springs Men’s Golf Association members competed for prize money in the Pro’s Trophy tournament held Friday, July 14, at the Tapatio Springs Golf Resort.

Around 150 young ladies attended this year’s Boerne ISD Volleyball Camp held at Champion High School that was broken up into two sessions. The camp was conducted by BISD coaches and former players from both BHS and Champion.

While thousands of Texans and out-of-state visitors traveled to Texas lakes, rivers and coastal bays to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday weekend, Texas Game Wardens were out in force to ensure everyone stayed safe on the water.

There were nine press conferences on Monday to kick off the Texas High School Coaches Association’s 91st annual Coaching Convention in Houston.

This week’s recent Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star Basketball Game pitted a Greyhound coach against a Greyhound player. Boerne High girls coach Amy Ruede coached the Red All-Stars, while incoming Boerne senior Averi Aaron played with the Blue All-Stars. Aaron, a Louisiana Tech commit, turned in quite a performance and was named the game’s MVP. 

A couple of Boerne ISD baseball players, and a former coach, will take part in the High-Plains Shootout to be held July 17-19 in Enid, Oklahoma.

Bill Merrell’s last season coaching after 44 years resulted in nine Boerne High baseball players being recognized as all-district players in 27-4A.
