Hispanic Texans likely largest demographic group

The new population figures from the American Community Survey indicate Hispanic Texans comprise 40.2% of the state’s population last year, while non-Hispanic white Texans made up 39.4%, as reported in the Texas Tribune.

“The Big Give” to Give Hope on Sept. 22-23

This 24-hour, South Central Texas event is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families through nonprofit organizations in the region. Book & Arts Festival takes off in October

I’ve been reading many inspirational books over the last couple of years – both fiction and non-fiction. The most recent book I’ve read is “Making Space for Women: Stories from Trailblazing Women of NASA’s Johnson Space Center” edited by Jennifer M. Ross-Nazzal and published by Texas A&M University Press. This book is a goldmine filled with stories by many trailblazing women, going back 40 years or more to NASA’s beginnings.
