Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries will again participate in The Big Give annual fundraiser. This 24-hour, South Central Texas event is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families through nonprofit organizations in the region. This year, more families need your help. With increased inflation and a 40 percent increase in the cost of food, families are struggling to put food on tables while juggling the need to pay for rent, insurance, medications and other essential items. You can learn more by visiting us at the Big Give kickoff at Singing Water Vineyards in Comfort on Sunday, Sept. 18. HCDBM will be on-site 2-5 p.m. There will be live entertainment, and there will be food and wine for purchase.

Your donations to HCDBM go even further during the week of Big Give. Donations up to $20,000 will be matched by the Carl C. Anderson Sr. & Marie Jo Anderson Foundation, a generous donor and supporter of HCDBM. Follow HCDBM on Instagram and Facebook to hear from mentors, mentees, volunteers and more.

“We are dedicated to assisting families living in poverty and crisis, while showing them the love of Christ. HCDBM offers a hand up, not a handout. It is through the generosity of donors and volunteers that we can provide these services. We are delighted to participate in the Big Give, an important community initiative!” said Agnes Hubbard, Executive Director and Co-Founder of HCDBM.

Beyond distributing food and basic resources to meet the most essential of needs, 2,864 people were served through HCDBM’s Family Mentoring Program last year. Mentors are matched through local churches to walk alongside families who need help and supported by case management. Additionally, more than 60,000 people were reached through the ministry’s Community Resource Program which serves local non-profits, with their no-fee foodbank, clothing, diapers and other essential hygiene products.

According to www.thebiggivesa.org, since 2014, more than 242,000 donors have contributed more than $30 million to local nonprofits through the annual Big Give fundraiser, making it one of the most successful giving days in the country.
